Developed and performed in collaboration with nine young performers of Bathurst, Synthesis explores our human impulse to decide and then to act, and what influences such an impulse?

 

Synthesis began with workshops allowing young performers to investigate contemporary performance practice through synthesis of form - of dance and theatre. From this they began to experiment with movement and text and explore collaboratively ideas of expressing the collision of the past, present and the future.

 

Synthesis was performed Catapult Festival (excerpt) in March 2012, with the premiere season in May at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

 

The project was supported by a Residency and Mentorship grant from the Regional Arts Fund, Art OutWest and Local Stages at BMEC.
